Bridal Collection: Bridal Guest Soaps, Potpourri Gift Bag and Scented Candle

scented-soaps-1_edited-1.jpg

Hi There!  I have three designs to share today:  Altered scented soaps with handmade soap trays (shown above), a potpourri bag and scented candle.  These are great gifts for the bridal guests and attendants. The designs would also make wonderful birthday gifts.

I purchased small wrapped scented soaps and altered them by placing a Dahlia flower on the front of the soap.  I made the Dahlia soap dish by embossing three layers of Dahlia flowers using the largest Dahlia die.  I adhered leaves to the bottom of the soap tray and adhered a butterfly.  A bit of glitter was added to the butterfly’s wings with a Quickie Glue pen.

These altered soaps are so pretty and would look great in a guest bathroom! I have five soaps and used five different sentiments from JustRite’s Romantic Sentiments and Loving Thoughts sets to stamp sentiments in the bottom of each soap tray and on the bottom of each soap.  Due to natural lighting conditions, the soap took on a blue cast, it’s nearest to my window, the smaller Dahlia stamped with the sentiment on the bottom of the soap is the same color as the soap tray.

A close up of the soap tray, I adhered three of the larger Cuttlebug leaves for a touch of green to the designs.

An altered rose scented potpourri bag.  I love placing these throughout my home on a side table or on a bedroom dresser.   I dyed 1.5″ silk ribbon a shade darker with the Soft Rose ink.  To make the silk a bit shabby I scrunched it with a paper towel, heat set the dye with a heating tool, then tied several loops for the bow, leaving long tails.  I wanted a more shabby look for this bag since it’s a bit vintage.

I tied the tag to the ribbon treatment and attached it to the bag.  A JustRite Romantic Sentiment was stamped in the inner Dahlia petal with Soft Rose ink.  I used the Essential Glue Pad to adhere the glitter on the bottom layer after stamping with JustRite’s 2″ Decorative Borders.  A small Dahlia was placed inside the larger Dahlia and a few Sizzix leaves were attached.  I dyed 1/8″ white silk ribbon with the Soft Rose ink pad and attached a small multi-looped bow to the tag, leaving the tails about 3 inches.  A Kaisercraft pearl was placed inside the smaller Dahlia.  Soft Rose ink was sponged around the edges of the tag with a small dauber.

This candle is so shabby, I love it!  It smells wonderful as well, I probably will leave it in the bag and place it in a bedroom or guest bath.

I love stamping JustRite’s Romantic Sentiments and Loving Thoughts sentiments inside the Dahlia flowers, the stamps are the perfect size for the medium sized die.  I used 1″ sheer ribbon, as well as 1/4″ and 1/8″ silk ribbon, to the ribbon treatment.  The 1/8″ ribbon was dyed to match using Soft Rose ink.  A small Dahlia was placed inside the larger flower, a Sizzix leaf branch was adhered to the Dahlia with a butterfly fluttering on the leaves.  Kaisercraft pearls were adhered to the small Dahlia and butterfly.

As with the other designs, I created the flowers using Dahlia Nestibilties.  A Bridal Collection Product Page has been added on a tab at the top of my blog banner with links to all the products used in the designs and sold at A Touch of Grace – Paper Boutique.  All products highlighted in pink are available on the product page with shopping links to the store.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I truly appreciate your visit. I’ll be back soon with another design.
