Welcome to Fall – Wall Hanging

fall-designs-aa-058-copy.jpg

I love wall hangings, I have placed them all over my home, including the bathrooms.  Wall hangings are perfect for filling in  small spaces on your walls. This hanging also looks nice on an antique stand, which is how I’ve pictured it above.

I customed embossed the background panel and have a template available if you’re interested in making the wall hanging. A beautiful 1.5″ irridescent Hannah wired ribbon was used to make the large bow and hanger for the wall hanging.  A large mum with leaves was placed over the three loops and adhered with PergaGlue.

The reverse side of the wall hanging.  I traced around the edges of the template and cut white poster board to fit the template.  The 1.5″ ribbon was adhered between the two layers for a white smooth back surface to lay flush against the wall.

The oval panel was made first and then placed on foam pads adhered to the wall hanging.  Two olive silk May Arts bows were placed underneath the violet (bluish) mum.  Two of the ribbon tails were draped up and placed under the small purple bud in the upper right corner.  The other two tails were draped down and tucked under the purple bud in the lower left corner at the bottom of the design.

Jeweled pearls and brass butterfly charms were used as embellishments, giving the designs a very vintage feel.

Black glass beads were placed within the small white flowers.  Stamens were placed inside the large purple mum and a lady bug bead was added for a bit of fun.

The large purple mum was perfect in size for the bow hanger. I added more petals to this mum increasing its size, a few smaller leaves underneath it were perfect for a splash of color.

A closer view of the wall hanging, it measures 16″ in length (hanger included).
