White Work Anemones Parchment Craft

Today I have a white work anemone parchment card to share with you.

Flowers are such a wonderful inspiration for parchment craft. Well, for me, flowers are an inspiration for all my designing. I was born with an innate love for nature. This design is found in Pergamano’s Magazine M93, together with five other beautiful floral designs. This pattern is a design of Hiskia Wittenaar. I have several of Hiskia’s books, I love just gazing at them for inspiration.

This style of parchment craft is called Whitework and it’s one of my favorites! Techniques in this design include tracing with a mapping pen with white Tinta ink, embossing, stippling, perforating, embossing and perforating on grids and cutting. I used regular parchment paper with an insert sheet of hydrangea purple parchment paper.

After completing the tracing with the mapping pen and ink, I lightly traced the outlines of the flowers with a white lead pencil. I colored in the flowers with Perga Liners. The embossing was done on the back side of the parchment paper. All stippling is done on the back side of the paper as well. Before embossing, I shallowly perforated the design. Once the stippling and embossing were completed, I used the multi grid #4 and the fine mesh grid for the patterns within the four corner motifs. I used the hockey stick for the feathering technique within the leaves. Some embossing was done using the grid as well. When all embossing and deep perforating was completed, I completed the cutting and finished the card.

Due to the transparency of the parchment paper it’s hard to photograph the depth of the colors with the sunshine behind it. I like to take pictures of the cards on a flat service to show the intensity of the colors. Learning parchment craft is not difficult, but it does take some practice. If you’re interested in picking up a new craft, or getting back into it, I have some tutorials listed in the left side of my blog entitled Parchment Tutorials. Click on the link and you’ll be directed to the tutorials. There are seven different technique books involved. I have posts on each of the books (see Parchment Tutorials on left side bar), giving descriptions of what’s in the books, as well as some pictures of my completed designs from the lessons teaching that particular technique. To get started I would suggest purchasing the parchment kit, a mapping penTinta white ink, and the parchment DVD. The DVD illustrates the techniques and goes hand-in-hand with the seven technique books. I sell the Technique Books in my store.

A lovely card that can be used for almost any occasion. Shopping links are provided below.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I feel so blessed when you take time from your busy day to visit with me — sending warm wishes your way for a beautiful, sunny day and week! I’ll be back later in the week . . . hope to see you then!

Paper Hugs,
