Spellbinders Fairy – Cierra

Published by at 11:00 pm under Birthday,Occasions,Spellbinders,Spring,Stencils

Thank you for all the prayers for my family and my brother, we so greatly appreciate your love and concern. My brother will be leaving in-house rehab soon and entering outpatient rehab. The people of Houston are absolutely amazing, generous, wonderful and just downright hospitable. I was there for a week while my brother was in ICU and do not have the words to express how grateful I am for all the staff at Ben Taub Trama Center for the care they gave my brother; they saved his life, to which I am eternally grateful. I lost my older brother in an automobile accident and could not bear to think I would lose my “baby” brother (seven years younger than me). God is so good and gracious in his loving Grace! As soon as I returned from Houston, my sons flew in from Nashville. We spent a week at the beach relaxing before they headed back to school.

Today I have a sweet shabby fairy card to share, Spellbinders’ Cierra fairy. I used four Spellbinders Die D-Lites on this card, the fairies, the locket and the Create-a-Rose dies (large soft pink rose). I used the wet petal technique (as used in my Dahlia tutorials) and mulberry paper (now in stock).

I made two sets of wings for the fairy and layered them with fairy dust (glitter).

The locket has a cameo inside, it’s the Ariana fairy (I removed her wings).  Prima flowers worked perfect on the card, I tucked a few pink rose buds inside the locket, together with a touch of baby’s breath.

Kaiser pearls were adhered to the locket, as well as to the card. I distressed the edges, added some pretty seam binding and I especially love the Petal Pins – Iced Prima pin tucked under the large pink rose (Create A Rose).

This would make a sweet card for a little girl’s birthday. The back could be removed and the card framed to hang in her bedroom, the size is approximately 5″ x 6″. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit today. I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Paper Hugs,

Hi Jerri, So sorry to hear about your brother’s sickness. I am sure he is in God’s good hands. Praying for his speedy recovery!
Your card is as usual a breath taking one. The dark pink color flower catches my eyes first and then the rest sinks in. I like the color combo as it is very soothing to the eyes. My favorite colors for my cards too! Take care, Anne

I am so sorry to hear of your brothers difficulties. Takes the breath right out of one and all. Very glad to hear he is on the road to recovery and that life is starting to get back to normal for your family. The ocean is a place to gather ones thoughts and unwind and regroup. Glad you had that. Will pray for his recovery. Your card is very beautiful. The colors are so soft and sweet, the flowers so beautiful. I love the idea of the center part being a “locket.” What a brilliant idea.

Dear Jerri, So sorry to hear about your brother, but glad to hear he is now on the road to recovery. Your new card is beautiful. I always seem to produce some really good works, when I am troubled, and it amazes me, how we can manage to do that when we are in such turmoil. It seems to help release an inner strength and creativeness. My thoughts are with you and your family.
    Love Monica, Australia

Saying prayers for your brother’s continued recovery and hoping it all goes smoothly. Your card is lovely and I especially like the locket idea – brings back memories of a locket that I had as a child that disappeared a number of years ago, which is sad because I would have loved to pass it on to my Granddaughter.

  12. Oh my so Lovely, the little locket is so cute and I love the rose buds, just precious, all the sparkle just tops it off nicely!
Good to hear your brother is doing better and you were able to spend some relaxing time with your children.
I haven’t had time to try out the paper yet for flowers, can’t wait to play 🙂
