Twas The Night Before Christmas

Good morning dear friends, before I start with the card I’m sharing today, I want to personally thank each and every one of you for praying for my brother, for writing and asking how he’s doing and for coming here to visit my blog. You are very dear to my heart and while I don’t have the time to write to you as much as I’d like, you’re always in my thoughts.

I’m excited to tell you that my brother is returning to work today. He’s taking it slowly, he’ll be behind a desk for a few weeks as he continues to gain his strength. Jimmie is a nuclear welder and has traveled the globe with spots in Korea, Belgium and Italy to name a few. Your continued prayers for his ability to quickly get back into the swing of things and be fully recovered is so very appreciated. Jimmie sends his gratitude to all of you who prayed for him. Thank you so very much! Christmas Card 002 copy

Today I have a Christmas card to share with you that I designed using Graphic 45’s Twas the Night Before Christmas collection. All three paper pads were used for this card, 6 x 6, 8 x 8 and 12 x 12, together with beautiful Christmas mulberry paper that I now have in stock in my store, A Touch of Grace-Paper Boutique.

I used Spellbinders Rose Creation dies to make the red Christmas roses out of Christmas mulberry paper. Beautiful red 1/4″ May Arts ribbon bows compliment the intense red of the poinsettias, also made with the Christmas mulberry paper. Green holly leaves are tucked in the design, also made with the Christmas mulberry paper collection. A few Prima Serenade white roses are tucked in, along with a bit of baby’s breath and red Christmas berries.

The adorable twigs incorporated in the design are from Spellbinders Cherry Blossom Stems, I think they work very nicely in this Christmas design . . . I like multiple functions/uses from my dies! Prima Encore roses are tucked into the upper corner arrangement. I used Marianne dies for the poinsettias, as well as the holly leaves. (Spellbinders poinsettia dies would also be lovely to use in this design).

The stamens for the poinsettias were taken from an old berry wreath I purchased from Michael’s a few years back . . . I like recycling!

I used the size two dies from the Rose Creation dies to make these small red Christmas roses, as well as the leaf dies from Spellbinders Create-A-Rose dies. I used the same technique to make the roses that I use in my Dahlia tutorials. I purchased the red Christmas berries from a site that sells vintage German stamens.

I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit, I have some Christmas note cards and Christmas tags to share with you soon made from the same Graphic 45 paper collection. They are perfect for presenting gifts to dear family and friends alike.
