Bundle of Joy
Good morning dear friends, I have an adorable baby card to share today. My son recently sent me the most adorable picture of a new born baby boy. A friend in his bible study class became a father for the third time . . . what a blessing!! Of course I volunteered to make a card for my son to give to the proud parents.
The card base is from a 12″ x 12″ Coredinations Colorcore Card Stock paper pack. The designer papers are from Crate Paper – Baby Bee Collection that is ages and ages old, but I still love it and had some left from years ago and thought this was a perfect opportunity to use it up, it’s perfect for a baby boy card.
I used seam binding for the bow, which was super easy to make using the Bow Easy ribbon tool.
I used Marianne dies to make the sneakers and bib, so precious for baby cards! I used DMC embroidery floss for the shoe laces, another great alternative is burlap string if you don’t have floss.
Using a sponge dauber, I distressed the edges of all layers with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I applied foam tabs to the shoes, bib, and focal layer (striped paper panel) to create depth. The buttons are from Stampin’Up! (not sure if they still sell them, I purchased mine years ago). I used three strands of floss per button for the button’s bows. I purchased the charm and safety pin from Michael’s years ago. I used the Evolution cutting system to cut the die cuts.
I’ll be back soon, until next time . . .

Lovely card. My partners daughter is expecting his first grandchild! He, and they are very excited. Its a boy and I’m crochrting a cover for the carseat. It has an opening for the seatbelt. Its not perfect, but I haven’t crocheted in years. I am so proud! Thanks for sharing your lovely creation. I know they’ll love it.
Hugs, Jess.

Oh, Jerri, what an absolutely darling baby card! After seeing you use these darling dies for a number of cards…and having been tempted to buy them, I still have yet to do so. But you sure are tempting me. I think it would be good to have several on hand for boys and girls. This is so sweet, and I know the young couple will love it. And what darling paper! Hugs!
